In the early 1800s, Scottish and Irish farmers began to settle in what is now the northwest corner of Fayette County. In 1907, the Birmingham and Atlantic Railroad laid down tracks through the area and named the growing settlement Tyrone because of its resemblance to County Tyrone in Ireland. On August 18th, 1911, the town was officially incorporated as Tyrone, Georgia.

Seven years later, the Busey family built a home near the heart of the small town. Completed sometime in 1918, the cabin was originally just four rooms surrounding a central fireplace. As the family grew and technology advanced, so did the house. A kitchen and bathroom were eventually added and improvements were made so that it could serve the country doctor who practiced out of it.

In 2003, the home was purchased and renovated for use as the primary offices of Trison Group. In 2016, the cabin was reopened as a flexible work and meeting space for the community.

The hand-cut timbers and unique stacked stone columns have been preserved all these years. The original fireplace still remains as a central feature of the cabin, and the floors continue to bear the weight and marks of 100 years of walking, jumping, playing, and dreaming.
